Battle of the Bands finale packs the main stage

Battle of the Bands finale packs the main stage

After six weeks of live auditions, listener voting, and late-night rehearsals, the Battle of the Bands finale arrived with the energy of a summer festival compressed into one unforgettable evening. Local venues opened their doors early, but thousands tuned in through our live broadcast as eight finalists traded sets, stories, and standout originals.

The winning group, Harbor Lights, closed the night with a tight four-song run that blended indie rock with Caribbean rhythms—a sound the judges called “impossible to ignore.” Frontwoman Maya Chen thanked listeners who voted by text and online, noting that community support kept the competition alive long after the final chord faded.

For radio, the event proved how powerful local music can be when given a platform. We aired full performances, backstage interviews, and a recap special the following morning. Several finalists have already been added to rotation, and Harbor Lights will join the Morning Drive for an acoustic session next month.

If you missed the finale, the full broadcast replay is available on our website and podcast feed. We are already planning next year’s edition with more stages, more genres, and more opportunities for emerging artists to be heard across the region.

Thank you for continuing to support local radio and the artists who make our community soundtrack unforgettable.
